There is nothing like the little thrill we get when we learn our favorite companies are partnering with equally loved designers. Today we share a few notable faves….
Target Designer Collaborations
It’s so hard to choose a favorite because we have loved all of them! Porter Design Company faves include: Missoni, Liberty of London, John Derian and Phillip Lim. We wait anxiously for the next designer collaboration from Target! (Word on the street is it is Joseph Altuzarra, coming this Fall.)
While researching this post, I learned a little design collaboration history: Back in the early 80′s, Halston shocked the fashion world when he partnered with J.C. Penney to produce his very affordable Halston III line. Some high end retailers actually stopped carrying the designer’s higher end goods because they felt he had ‘cheapened’ the perception of the brand. Thirty years later, we can thank him for paving the way to Target’s enormously successful collaboration program!
Rifle Paper Co. + Hygge & West
As a paper junkie, and a lover of beautiful wallcoverings, this one really hits home. Rifle Paper Co. is a Florida-based paper goods company, manufacturing all of their products in the USA on FSC certified paper stocks. Their rich pattern and color is unmistakable. They recently partnered with Hygge & West on a line of wallcoverings. Fans of the Rifle Paper Co. aesthetic will not be disappointed!
Jonathan Adler + Toms
Dash & Albert + Bunny Williams
This line of outdoor-friendly rugs in sophisticated patterns just makes us love Dash + Albert a little bit more. The line also includes some jute weave rugs, as well.
Collaborations we are looking forward too:
Kelly Wearstler + Visual Comfort
Kelly Wearstler’s collaborations include fabric and wallpaper lines, rugs, china and paper goods. We can’t wait to see the lighting she does for Visual Comfort, a favorite lighting brand at Porter Design Company.
F. Schumacher + Timothy Corrigan
We’ve seen some amazing designer fabric and wallcovering lines from F. Schumacher, including Mary McDonald, Celerie Kemble, Kelly Wearstler, Trina Turk, and most recently Timothy Corrigan, to name a few. We can’t help but wonder who is next!
